Post Wide Range of Thoughtout Suggestions

Ok, right now I'm kind of bored with this game. Once you beat the story and you've done some guild battles it's pretty pointless. Here are some things that might spice it up a bit.
Let's start with Guild Hall improvements.
Guild Halls, cost a lot or take work to win. Not a problem, however Guild Halls aren't anything great. The look is ok, but Guild Halls should serve more of a purpose than to just be a place to enter Guild Battles. A guild hall should be a cool place to hang out with your guild. Usually when you go to your guild hall, it's a dead boring place that no one really goes to. Well here are some things that can make a guild hall a lot more exciting.
1. Games- Maybe have some type of games in the guild hall. Not arcade type games, but perhaps some type of sport. Maybe have like a soccer type game with goals that anyone can play when ever they like. I'm sure you guys could think up better stuff if you tried.

2. Dueling- It would be cool if you could spar off with other guild members. It would be just a little one on one battle with a guild member, just for fun. You'd want to make it in a small arena. Not very big. Maybe have a spar challenge command. And then you fight each other right then and there depending if the opponent accepts the challenge.

3. Music- It wouldn't be too hard to have a menu with a little browse box for uploading music. The music could be played and heard by all of the guild members. I understand the price for storing these types of files, but they do not need to be stored, delete them when the song is through and if they wish to hear it again they can reupload it.

4. Guild Events- Guilds should be able to host special events in their halls. When holding a special event you schedule a date and time for the event to be held and then the player can pick from a range of decoration schemes for the guild hall. Like say it was someones birthday in the guild. You could tell that member there is a guild battle and to be there and then surprise him with a birthday party. And even be able to set up decorations for holidays and schedule fireworks. Hosting these events could cost gold as well. That way people wouldn't just have events every day and events would be more special.

5. Guild Shop- It would be cool if each guild had it's own sort of shop. This shop would be similar to how dye traders and material traders work, except this shop sells everything you sell to it and it doesn't sell it for supply and demand prices, it sells it for double of what ever you sold it to the merchant for. This would really help members of the guild who are much newer to guild wars.

Now for Misc. suggestions.

1. Bump and Brawl- Ever see get angry at someone harrassing you and you can't do anything about it? Well this is a system I like to call the Bump and Brawl System. Someone in the town is agitating you, you call them out to a brawl publicly. If he declines he will look like a scaredy cat and there goes his ego. So they will most likely accept. This could help prevent spam fights. Now when you are angry with someone instead of having a spam war, fight right in the middle of town with everyone watching. This could also add a lot of flavor and fun to the game. Here is how I was thinking BaB would work.
Bob: SPAM SPAM SPAM
John: Think your so tough? Let's settle this right here and now.
Bob: Bring it on @#$@#, I'll waste you.
John clicks on Bob and has his name selected. On the left side of the little bar at the top is a Brawl button. John clicks the brawl button and a little message comes up. It would be similar as to offering a trade. Then when Bob accepts the challenge the two walk to meet each other. A green ring or red or w/e just a ring of color, goes around both of them. That is the boundry lines. The two players cannot leave the boundry. They then fight each other, one on one as they would in a normal PvP battle. The boundries of the arena would be very small. No room to run. Just enough room for both players to stand on the opposite sides and still be able to hit each other. People could walk through the boundries though. If they couldn't people could wall off portions of maps and we'd have a big problem. So now lets say John kicks Bob's butt. Bob would fall to the ground and then re-teleport into town. And maybe it could say winner over John's head or something. Also this system could be used for a type of gambling. Not people betting on whose going to win, but both opponents wager an item that the other has to agree to, and then the winner recieves the item. There could be an option, like the one for guild battles, that says Issue Wagered Challenge. This system could become a big hit and be widely used by people to shut up spammers or just simply to have a good brawl and win some goods. Maybe this could even increase your fame by 1 point or something, or maybe there could be a new type of something that increases with wins from this.

2. Guild Ranks (Leader, Officer, Member)- It would be cool if the guild leader could make ranks in his/her guild. The leader would pick the name of the rank and what that rank is able to do. When creating a rank maybe have a window that comes up with a place to enter the rank name, then a number of checkable boxes next to the abilities a rank can have. Also you could pick the number of power the rank has. This is the order in which the ranks would appear in the guild window, and would help with promotion purposes. Here is an example of some things you could pick from.(Considering the guild battle update has came, and that some of my former suggestions were taken.)

Invite new nembers.
Promote members to ranks lower than it's own.
Upload music to guild.
Kick members from the guild (and have the ranks in which it is allowed to kick).
Host guild events.
Enter in guild battles.

This new ranking system would make guilds more exciting. This way there is no normal members (unless you make it) and everyone can apply for jobs. It is hard to trust people. Promoting people to officers is a big step. If they are untrustworthy it could end up a disaster. They could kick everyone from the guild. This would help prevent that, and give members a better feeling about their guild because they could actually have a job and a little special ability of their own.

3. Screen clearing for screenshots- Well it's pretty self explanitory. There needs to be a button you press that clears the screen for screen shots. That way all the menus on the screen don't get in the way of your screenshots.

4. On your friends list there should be something that tells you the location of your friend, place and district. And to prevent stalking, we could have it to where if the player is on your ignore list, they cannot see where you are.
Hope my suggestions are looked at.

I like most of the ideas, especially the guild ideas (Guild Events would be awesome). Dueling and sparring in Halls would be nice, as long as other guild members could watch. Also, a new way to organize the guild "ranks" is needed...

The only thing I'm not so sure about is the brawl. Such a small arena, only warriors would fight well (casters would get torn apart). but, hey, it would be something to do (and see) in town rather than trading or just hanging around AFK

I do like the dueling idea for guild-mates.. it's be a great way to learn about one anothers weaknesses when building a GvG team, and it would be fun

The only problem with bump and brawl i could see is the amount of work that would be needed to program in weapons helm and the ability for skills to work in the town...this would be rather difficult to accomplish(at least i would think, but then again im no programmer either) without creating some major bugs along the way. A one on one arena would be nice addition though where you could "settle the score" with another player though it would be dominated by warrior classes in the end...particularly war/monks...and would exclude some classes all together without having to respec their attribute points...(kinda of a waste for a 1vs1 arena)

If you hold down <shift> and hit print screen you can get a clear screen shot.

The other idea's sound like they might be fun! I do take exception to the idea of having a friend's location displayed.....unless the privilage was unlocked by the friend in question, angry people ccould add someone to the friend list just to follow and flame them....

Yeah it probably would be a lot of work and put out a lot of bugs, not to mention the Warriors having the upper hand. Well maybe this could be something that comes out with the expansion. This way they could get the bugs worked out of it. Second maybe the fighting system could be different. Instead of using weapons and normal health etc., the two people fight with fists and it is a button pressing type duel. Maybe there could be a bar with a circle in the middle and a little fist on the bar moves really fast and the first person to press space with the fist in the circle wins. I dunno just an alternative to average fighting. Also warriors aren't invincible a simple air elementalist could dispose of a warrior with ease.

Yes, sparring should definatley be able to be viewed by everyone in the guild hall.

Thanx, I didn't know about the holding shift thing. And also if you read here on my post...

that would prevent that problem right there.

And lastly I'd like to add another idea.
5. Spectating- It would be helpfull to new players, and even something to do if we're bored, if we could watch the Hall of Heroes battle. Not the battles in the rift, but the actual Hall of Heroes battle. Maybe have the spectator camera like the camera when you're dead. You can zoom around from player to player and observe the battle. And possibly, but not probably, have stands around the map of the Hall of Heroes and you can see the spectators sitting in them. But probably not because that would be a decent amount of work to add in graphics and such.
